🥳 Happy birthday to us! 🥳

Very pleased (and excited) to report that today, at 1:23pm, The Dream Society (Penticton) officially came into being! This is, in many ways, just the beginning. But so many other things depended on this that it feels like we've made a huge leap forward. And now that we've done that, we can start taking a whole lot more off our todo lists.

Now that everything's official, I'm very pleased to share with you the names of our founding directors, some of whom will probably be familiar to you:

We're still hoping to add someone with significant restaurant experience, and perhaps a lawyer or accountant so, if that's you, please reach out to us ASAP. In the interim, I hope you'll agree that we've assembled a pretty impressive team. Lest there be any doubt, I'll soon be adding everyone's bios to the web site.

Just so you know, the next big hurdle is mailing down the new floor plan and costing the renovations that necessitates. In this regard, we are very fortunate to be working with Tony Atkins of Atkins Design Studio. Tony's as enthused about this project as we are and, given the importance of this project to our community, he's giving us a significant discount on his fees. (Thanks, Tony!!!)

Once we have a design and a budget, we'll be ready to do the full reveal. We're hoping that will happen no later than the end of January. In the interim, we'll be working on things like an appropriate liquor license (i.e., liquor primary), charitable status with CRA, food and drink menus, and countless other things. But for at least a day or two, we'll be doing nothing except revelling in the fact that The Dream Society actually exists!
