About

Benjamin Dakota Rogers is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and composer from Southwestern Ontario who combines fiddle and guitar with honest folk music, stories, and spoken-word poetry. Hailing from his family's farm in Southwestern Ontario, Rogers grew up building greenhouses, growing vegetables, and living off the land, experiences that deeply inform his songwriting about rural life, family, and connection to place. His third album and latest release Whisky and Pine features eleven original songs delivered with reflective emotion and warm harmonies, showcasing his growth as a songwriter and arranger. Rogers was nominated for a Juno Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Juno Awards for his 2023 album Paint Horse, bringing his work to national attention. His music draws listeners in with compelling narratives and thoughtful observations about contemporary rural life, delivered with fiddle and guitar virtuosity that comes from years of dedication to his craft. Rogers frequently performs with Jeremie Albino, and the two have built a strong following through their joint tours across Canada and the United States. His ability to blend traditional folk instrumentation with contemporary songwriting sensibilities, along with his incorporation of spoken-word elements, creates performances that are both musically satisfying and narratively compelling. Rogers represents a new generation of folk artists who honor tradition while bringing fresh perspectives and artistic innovation to the genre.
