About

Julian Taylor and Logan Staats represent two of Canada's most compelling Indigenous voices in contemporary music, currently touring together in an acoustic format featuring songs and storytelling. Julian Taylor was born in Kahnawake and is of mixed Black Canadian and Mohawk descent. This Toronto-based, award-winning singer-songwriter, radio host, and label owner has established himself over a 20-plus-year career that includes leading Staggered Crossing, whose hit Further Again was one of the most-played Canadian rock songs of the early 2000s. His 2020 solo album The Ridge earned him two JUNO Award nominations, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Solo Artist, five Native American Music Award nominations, and a Polaris Music Prize nomination. In September 2024, he released his third solo album Pathways. Taylor also hosts the syndicated radio show Julian Taylor's Jukebox and remains active in cultural outreach around Truth and Reconciliation. Logan Staats, a Mohawk singer-songwriter, won the 2018 musical competition show The Launch before an audience of 1.4 million viewers, launching his career to Nashville and Los Angeles. His single The Lucky Ones won the Indigenous Music Award for Best Radio Single, and he earned a Juno nomination for his debut album Light in the Attic, along with a NAMA Award for best debut artist. Together, these two talented Indigenous artists create an evening of powerful storytelling and exceptional musicianship that celebrates their heritage and contemporary experiences.
