Sean Bray's love of the guitar started at age 12 after seeing The Buddy Holly Story, and 2024 marked his 40th year as a professional musician. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music and took private lessons with jazz greats John Abercrombie and Wayne Krantz, as well as further studies in Nashville with Brent Mason and Guthrie Trapp. When Sean moved to Toronto in 1990, he became a sought-after sideman, studio guitarist and leader of his own projects including his own record label, which was the first independent Canadian jazz label to be signed to a major record company. After 25 years in Toronto, Sean relocated to Kelowna, BC. CBC named Bray one of Canada's top 50 greatest guitarists of all time. Sean Bray's Peach Band serves as a great outlet for his movie score-inspired instrumentals. The band plays a hybrid of instrumental American roots with a jazz improvisation sensibility. The band includes Sean Bray on guitar, Loni Moger on guitar, Bernie Addington on bass, and David Mihal on drums. With his decades of experience in jazz, blues, and roots music, combined with his sophisticated compositional skills and virtuosic playing, Sean Bray's Peach Band delivers instrumental music that is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant, bridging the gap between jazz sophistication and roots accessibility.
