About

Under the Rocks has become one of Canada's premier bluegrass bands since forming in 2016, though the duo origins stretch back years earlier. Based in Kelowna, British Columbia, the current lineup consists of Jordan Klassen on acoustic guitar and vocals, Chloe Davidson on fiddle, Chris Baxter on banjo and mandolin, and Nils Loewen on upright bass. Chloe Davidson is a three-time Provincial Fiddle champion and Canadian Masters Competitor, bringing exceptional talent to the group. The band likes to define themselves as hard to define, playing straightforward bluegrass numbers inspired by traditional American bluegrass while also featuring tunes that are more singer-songwriter oriented and thoughtful. Traditional gypsy guitar, violin and upright bass make up their core vintage sound. Following the release of their first album, Live Off The Floor in 2018 (a collection that includes both covers and originals), they released their second studio album, Honest Try, on all platforms in February 2024. The Kelowna bluegrass band has been turning heads across North America, advancing from backyards to bars to cross-country tours and major festivals. They've shared stages with the likes of John Reischman & the Jaybirds, The Lil' Smokies and the Slocan Ramblers, establishing themselves as the next generation of bluegrass excellence in Western Canada.
