About

The Justin Glibbery Quintet is led by Justin Glibbery, a professional pianist, composer, and music educator who has been part of the Okanagan Valley music scene for 25 years. Based in Penticton, BC, Glibbery's sound encompasses many influences including Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group), Oscar Peterson, Bruce Hornsby, Keith Jarrett, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie. The quintet brings together Justin Glibbery on piano, Stefan Bienz on bass, Michael Treadway on drums, Michael Perkins on trumpet, and guest singer Yanti. The group is known for bringing their twist on jazz and pop covers along with original music, creating performances that are both accessible and musically sophisticated. Glibbery's recording projects have included three all-original albums as well as working with Juno-award winning guitarist Oscar Lopez on his most recent album Apasionado. The quintet regularly performs at venues throughout British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, including the Vernon Jazz Club, which Glibbery has described as one of his favorite venues. The group represents the high level of jazz musicianship found in the Okanagan, bringing world-class playing to local audiences and contributing to the vibrant arts scene of the region.
