Folk/Roots
ActiveAbout
Maddie Storvold and Jack Garton are folk-roots songwriters who have toured together in Western Canada as part of The Walnut Collective Revue and in duo performances. Maddie Storvold has been described as 'the black sheep love child of comedian Steven Wright and protest singer Joan Baez,' bringing wit and social consciousness to her songwriting. Jack Garton is a musician and theater artist in British Columbia whose show is 'a rocking, sultry and fresh blend of roots, blues and doo-wop.' Together, Maddie and Jack create performances that blend their individual strengths, combining Maddie's sharp lyrical observations with Jack's vintage rock and roots sensibilities. Their collaborative performances feature solo songs, duets, and the kind of musical moments that only happen when friends and musical collaborators share a stage. Both artists bring years of experience and dedication to their craft, resulting in shows that are both professionally executed and warmly personal. Their partnership represents the collaborative spirit of the Canadian folk and roots music community, where artists support each other and create opportunities for musical growth through shared performances.
