About

Ingrid St-Pierre, born in 1985, is a French Canadian singer-songwriter from Quebec who has become one of Quebec's most beloved contemporary artists. She was born and raised in Cabano, a town within the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. Her father is a businessman while her mother is a painter and an artist. From a young age, she was drawn to music, taking piano lessons and exploring classical singing, which provided a strong foundation for her future endeavors. At the age of 15, listening to Marie-Jo Thério's "Fais-Moi Danser François Hébert" inspired her to start singing.

Ingrid St-Pierre was only 17 when she left her hometown of Cabano in the Lower St-Lawrence region and relocated to Rimouski. She moved to Montreal, participated in the Ma première Place des Arts contest, and launched a delicate first album titled "Ma petite mam'zelle de chemin" in 2011. Her particular stamp is based on pianistic flights, a plethora of instruments adorning a fragile and luminous voice, and the album became one of the best sellers in Quebec.

In 2012, she released her second album "L'Escapade," receiving three ADISQ nominations: album of the year, singer-songwriter of the year, and the Contemporary adult award (which she lost to Céline Dion). On January 20, 2012, St-Pierre released a music video for her song "Ficelles" on YouTube, a video about her Grandmother and her struggle with Alzheimer's, which now has nearly three million views. After a three-year hiatus for personal reasons, during which St-Pierre suffered a miscarriage in 2014, she released her third album "Tokyo" in November 2015. The album was named after the city where her son was conceived; she and her partner, drummer Liu-Kong Ha, had a baby boy on September 9, 2015, whom they decided to name Polo. Later that year, she was nominated once again for the ADISQ Gala and finally won her first Felix for artist of the year.
