Anyway Gang

Anyway Gang is a Canadian rock supergroup consisting of Sam Roberts, Chris Murphy (from Sloan), Menno Versteeg (from Hollerado), and Dave Monks (from Tokyo Police Club). The group brings together four well-established Canadian acts, creating a powerhouse collaboration that represents some of the best talent in Canadian indie rock. The band formed in the summer of 2018, born from the mutual respect and friendship between these veteran musicians who had crossed paths numerous times throughout their individual careers.
They released their debut single, "Big Night," in September 2019, which went to number one at Alternative Radio, establishing immediate success for the supergroup. Their debut album, "Anyway Gang," was released on November 29, 2019, on Royal Mountain Records. To celebrate the release, they decided to play exactly one show at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. The show sold out in a matter of minutes, so they decided to quit while they were ahead and not do any more shows—a tongue-in-cheek approach that reflected their laid-back attitude toward the project.
In 2022, the band returned with a full-length record called "Still Anyways," proving that their initial collaboration had lasting appeal. For this album, they worked in a real studio with producers Gus Van Go (known for his work with Metric, Arkells, and others) and Nixon Boyd (from Hollerado and Dizzy), bringing professional production polish to their collective songwriting talents. Anyway Gang represents a unique moment in Canadian rock where four major talents came together simply for the joy of making music.
