About

David Myles, born on May 12, 1981, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is a sonic shapeshifter with more than 15 albums that run the gamut—in English and French—through classic folk traditions, impassioned rock 'n' roll, earthy existential blues, cosmic jazz and funk instrumentals, reflective Americana, and sweltering R&B. Based in New Brunswick, his music has often been labeled folk jazz, although he prefers simply to call it "roots" music, reflecting the diverse influences that inform his eclectic sound.

With two Juno Awards to his credit, David Myles has established himself as a world-class entertainer and one of Atlantic Canada's most successful musical exports. His album "That Tall Distance" won the 2022 Juno Award for Instrumental Album of the Year, showcasing his versatility beyond vocal performances. He co-wrote and featured on "Inner Ninja," a cross-genre collaboration with rapper Classified that became the biggest-selling rap single in the history of Canadian music, demonstrating his ability to transcend genre boundaries and create commercially successful collaborations.

An independent artist who self-releases his albums, Myles has been able to gain an increasingly large audience in part because of his active touring schedule, building a dedicated fanbase through relentless live performances. In a remarkable turn, he was elected as the member of Parliament (MP) for Fredericton—Oromocto in the 2025 Canadian federal election, becoming one of the rare artists to successfully transition from music to politics while maintaining both careers.
