About

Dizzy is a Canadian indie pop band from Oshawa, Ontario, whose debut album "Baby Teeth" won the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2019. The band, made up of front-woman Katie Munshaw, as well as siblings Charlie (drums), Alex (guitar), and Mack Spencer (bass), started making music together following 12th grade. The Spencers are brothers. Dizzy – a band from the suburb of Oshawa, Ontario – are three brothers – Charlie, Alex and Mackenzie Spencer and their friend Katie Munshaw, who made music to combat the anxieties of the vortex of boredom. Katie Munshaw has described how growing up in Oshawa influenced their music, saying "Oshawa introduced me to friendship and heartache and change while keeping me bored enough to sit at home and write about it." The group released "Baby Teeth" in 2018. On February 26, 2020 Dizzy released the single "Sunflower", and on July 31, 2020 the band released their second album, "The Sun and Her Scorch". The album received another Juno Award nomination for Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2021. Dizzy's dreamy indie pop sound and Katie Munshaw's distinctive vocals have resonated with audiences across Canada, establishing them as one of the most promising indie bands to emerge from Ontario in recent years.
