Headstones are a Canadian punk-influenced rock band that was formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1989, broke up in 2003, and then triumphantly reunited in 2011. The band consists of vocalist Hugh Dillon, guitarist Trent Carr, bassist Tim White, keyboardist Steve Carr, and Jesse Labovitz on drums. Known for their raw energy and Dillon's intense stage presence, Headstones became one of Canada's most respected alternative rock acts of the 1990s.
With nearly six years of touring, songwriting, and growing infamy, they were signed to MCA Records (now Universal Music Group) in 1993. They quickly released "Picture of Health" through their new label, earning them platinum status on the Canadian charts and establishing them as a major force in Canadian rock. The band received Juno Award nominations for Best Group and Best Rock Album in 1996, recognizing their impact on the Canadian music scene.
Headstones reunited for four shows in February 2011, and eight more in December across various Canadian cities, much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase. Released in 2013, "Love + Fury" was crowdfunded through PledgeMusic before being released by Universal Music. The album garnered the band their first top 10 album and number one hit single "Long Way to Neverland," proving that their music still resonated with audiences. In April 2025, the band signed on to Dine Alone Records and soon after released a single "NAVIGATE." On June 2025, Headstones announced their new album "BURN ALL THE SHIPS," set to release on September 19, 2025.
