Human Kebab is the stage name of Jason Parsons, a Canadian DJ and producer. He is best known as one half of the rock/electronic duo USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker), alongside Ash Buchholz. Parsons is from Stouffville in the Greater Toronto Area. He graduated from Trent University in 2002 with a business degree, where he was the resident DJ on campus, scratching for several rock bands. He came up with the name 'Human Kebab' after previously studying Vlad the Impaler in history class, and being intrigued by his methods of intimidating foe by putting his victims' heads on stakes like a kebab. Parsons and Buchholz met in 2004 while stocking the beer fridge and discussing music when they worked at a golf course. In 2008, Parsons and Ash Buchholz officially launched USS, beginning a run of seven albums and EPs, along with several stand-alone singles, racking up 13 Top 30 positions on the Canadian Alternative Rock chart, and nearly a quarter-million Spotify followers. USS performed until their final show in 2022, though they reunited in 2025. The seeds of his sound were planted when Human Kebab discovered Public Enemy during the fifth grade, with the sampling, scratching, production and politically infused emceeing on PE's classic albums influencing Parsons' musical tastes. Parsons has contributed writing and production to all USS recordings as well as to fellow Canadian artist Lights on her second album, 'Siberia,' and her subsequent release, 'Little Machines,' in 2014. As a DJ, Human Kebab has also performed with the godfather of Canadian hip-hop, Maestro Fresh Wes, and hosted his own radio shows on 102.1 The Edge in Toronto, Sonic 102.9 in Edmonton, KXRN in Laguna Beach, California, 98.9 The Drive in Kingston and The Zone 91.3 in Victoria, BC. In 2023, he launched a new project, title DIVIIDEDBY, together with Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier. Human Kebab is also a DJ, producer, songwriter, and voice actor.
