T. Buckley is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter from Calgary, Alberta. He uses the initial T., rather than his full given name, in his musical career because of American singer-songwriter Tim Buckley, to whom he is not related. T. Buckley stands quietly among a disappearing ilk of true craftsmen, shadowed by his Western roots, with a soul and voice that are unmistakably genuine. With a degree in Canadian History and a family background filled with professional musicians, he took up the mantle of songwriter, drawing inspiration from artists like Hyatt, Lovett, and Billy Cowsill. With influences stemming from the '60s Laurel Canyon and New York Cafe scenes, he tells stories embedded with detail, empathy and heart. After numerous accolades and releasing an EP and 3 full-length albums fronting the T. Buckley Trio (2008-2018), Buckley turned towards his songwriting roots and rediscovered his solo artist ambitions. In 2018, he released his fifth album, Miles We Put Behind, which was recorded in Montreal at Howard Bilerman's hotel2tango recording studio. His second solo album, Frame By Frame, was released November 5, 2021 via Fallen Tree Records and was recorded in the winter of 2020 at the National Music Centre in Calgary, Alberta. His accolades include: Canadian Folk Music Award Nominee for Songwriter of the Year 2023, Western Canadian Music Award Nominee for Songwriter of the Year 2022, Calgary Music Award Winner for Folk Recording of the Year 2022, Canadian Folk Music Award Nominee for Emerging Artist of the Year 2020, and Calgary Music Award Winner for Male Artist, Folk Recording and Songwriter of the year for 2019. He is the older brother of singer-songwriter Mariel Buckley.
