Julian Austin was born on August 24, 1963, and is a Canadian country music singer. Julian Austin was born in Sussex, NB and was raised in the Grand Bay/Saint John, NB area. He started his professional career by performing in bars when he was still in his teens. In 1996 Julian signed a major record deal with BMG Music Canada. Austin released his first album, 'What My Heart Already Knows,' on May 6, 1997. The album was certified gold by the Canadian Recording Industry Association for sales of 50,000 copies, and the first single, 'Little Ol' Kisses,' went to No. 1 the Canadian country singles chart. That same year, Austin won the Wrangler Rising Star Award from the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA). In 1998, Austin was nominated for Best Country Male Vocalist at the Juno Awards, but lost to Paul Brandt. The project was put on hold when he was injured in a bull-riding accident on January 9, 1999, leaving him with serious injuries. After his recovery, 'Back in Your Life' was released on March 7, 2000. Austin has recorded five studio albums. In early 2004 Julian had the opportunity to be part of a show tour that was sent to entertain our troops with seven shows in Bosnia, and he made multiple trips to perform for Canadian troops in Afghanistan and other locations. He was awarded the Canadian Governor General's Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers on: January 14, 2013 in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.
