Emilie-Claire Barlow was born in Toronto to parents who were professional musicians, and by age 7 had begun a career singing television and radio commercials. Her father is award-winning jazz drummer Brian Barlow (aka Brian Leonard), and her mother, Judy Tate, is a composer, arranger, and singer. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts studying musical theatre and dance for five years, and later focused her studies on music theory and arranging at Toronto's Humber College. Emilie-Claire Barlow is an award-winning and critically acclaimed Canadian jazz singer, arranger, record producer, and voice actress who has released 12 self-produced albums on her own label, Empress Music Group.
