Ashley Wey is a multi-award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist from Victoria, BC, who has led the Ashley Wey Trio for over a decade. She has played piano since she was five years old and performed professionally since she was fifteen. In 2000, she attended Humber College in Toronto, where she earned her degree in Jazz Performance with honours. Pianist, composer, and singer Ashley Wey is a multi-faceted artist highly regarded for both her playing and writing, as well as how she seamlessly crosses over from indie pop to R&B, hip-hop, and jazz. She has worked with Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila, JUNO Award-winners Brandi Disterheft, Mae Moore, The Parachute Club, and has toured on cruise ships around the world with four-time Grammy Award winner Manny Kellough. Wey is well established in the Victoria arts scene as both a musician and booking manager for Hermann's Jazz Club. With three critically acclaimed self-produced albums to her credit, Wey released her first album of entirely original music, "Hummingbird," in July 2021—a genre-bending project melding alternative folk, pop, and jazz. The Ashley Wey Trio, featuring bandmate and husband Louis Rudner on bass and Nicholas Bracewell on drums, has been performing since circa 2009. Anchored by audience interaction, diverse musicality, and candid authenticity, the Ashley Wey Trio has become beloved to fans around the world.
