Noah Derksen is a folk-roots singer-songwriter musician from Winnipeg, Canada. An American citizen raised in the heart of the Canadian prairies, he writes with the groundedness of harsh Manitoba winters mixed with the failed optimism of the American Dream. He currently resides in the West Broadway neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canadian Folk Music's 2021 Emerging Artist of the Year, Noah Derksen is quickly becoming known as a songwriter's songwriter. Hailing from the heart of the Canadian Prairies, Noah has spent years honing his craft up, down, and across North America. His third full-length album "Sanctity of Silence" (March 9, 2023) was released via Symphonic. Noah has teamed up with JUNO-award winning producer Murray Pulver for his third full-length album. His previous album "America, Dreaming" was produced by Murray Pulver and features artwork by JUNO winner Roberta Landreth. "America, Dreaming" earned him a 2021 Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year. "Sanctity of Silence" (2023) earned him a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Songwriter of the Year. Noah Derksen's music is characterized by introspective lyrics, vivid storytelling, and a distinctive voice that blends folk, Americana, and roots influences. His songs explore themes of place, identity, and the complexities of modern life with poetic precision and emotional depth.
