She also performs with the Soul Motivators, a nine-piece funk group that has opened for Lee Fields and Grand Master Flash, and with the female a cappella group the O'Pears. Lydia Persaud's rich, soulful voice and sophisticated musical arrangements have made her one of Toronto's most versatile and respected vocalists, equally at home in jazz clubs, soul venues, and recording studios. Her ability to blend traditional jazz with contemporary R&B and soul has earned her recognition as one of Canada's most exciting vocal talents.
