About

Jory Nash is a folk music-oriented Canadian singer-songwriter and musician based in Cobourg, Ontario. Nash blends elements of folk, jazz, blues, soul, and pop into an original stew of sound. He plays primarily acoustic guitar and piano, and occasionally plays the 5-string banjo. Born and raised in the Toronto area, this musician was influenced by a Pete Seeger concert he attended with his parents at the age of eight. Jory Nash has begun pre-production of his 10th album, to be recorded in Fall 2024 and released in April 2025. Jory Nash is regularly heard on numerous CBC Radio programs, SiriusXM, BBC, Galaxie, and college/NPR stations across North America. He tours regularly across Canada and the United States playing folk festivals, house concerts, folk clubs, and soft seat theatres. Jory Nash has received multiple Canadian Folk Music Award (CFMA) nominations, including 2015 Best Contemporary Singer & Best Producer for "The Many Hats of Jory Nash," 2018 Best Producer for "Wilderness Years," and 2013 Best Producer for "Little Pilgrim." He also received a CFMA nomination for "New Blue Day." His 2009 album "New Blue Day" was named Penguin Eggs Magazine Critic's Choice Album of the Year. He is also a previous winner of the OCFF Songs From The Heart Award. In 2000, his "Tangle With the Ghost" record was the most played Canadian folk album of the year. Nash's music is characterized by thoughtful lyrics, sophisticated arrangements, and a warm, engaging vocal style.
