Founding Directors

Aidan Mayes

Director

Aidan Mayes is a Penticton-born singer-songwriter, performer, and music educator rooted in the Okanagan Valley. With over 25 years of live performance experience, she has released multiple albums and performs widely in folk/contemporary venues. Aidan trained in performing arts at the Canadian College of Performing Arts and for years operated The Aidan Mayes School of Music, coaching students in voice, guitar, ukulele, and piano before transitioning to online creative programs. Her work blends artistry, teaching, and community connection, reinforcing the Dream Society's mission to foster local cultural engagement.

Anne Ramey

Secretary

Anne Ramey is a community arts leader and co-founder of Cat's Paw Productions Society in Penticton, where she has helped build an inclusive theatre organization that brings collaborative, locally driven musical stage productions to the region. With years of performance and creative-production experience—from community choir and musical theatre to costume design and backstage leadership—Anne brings practical arts expertise, a deep commitment to accessibility in the arts, and strong event delivery skills. Her creative leadership and community-centred focus strengthen the Dream Society's mission to enrich cultural life locally.

Justin Glibbery

Director

Justin Glibbery is a professional pianist, composer, bandleader, and music educator based in Penticton, BC. Classically trained with a Bachelor of Music in Education, he served as Music Director at Penticton Secondary School from 1994 to 2025 and leads multiple performance groups, including the Justin Glibbery Quintet and the Offramp Jazz Sextet. His career spans genres from jazz and original composition to musical theatre direction and recording work. Justin also operates a home recording studio and brings deep performance, teaching, and community engagement experience to the Dream Society board.

Kim Lymburner

President

Kim Lymburner brings extensive experience in arts funding, cultural policy, and nonprofit governance to the Dream Society board. Having held senior roles with the Canada Council for the Arts and the Hnatyshyn Foundation, he offers extensive expertise in grant strategy, program evaluation, and accountability to public and philanthropic funders. Kim is widely respected for his strategic insight, sound judgment, and collaborative approach. His leadership strengthens the Society's ability to design impactful programs, align with funder priorities, and sustain long-term cultural and community value.

Mia Harris

Director

Mia Harris is a classically trained opera singer, multidisciplinary performance artist, and teacher based in Penticton. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Opera from UBC, an Artist Diploma from the Vancouver Academy of Music, and an Opera Diploma from the University of Toronto, and has performed with organizations including Opera Kelowna, Opera in Concert (Toronto), Saskatoon Opera, and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. She has created original solo performance work, served as Artist in Residence at the Penticton Art Gallery, and teaches voice and transformative vocal practice locally, bringing deep artistic insight and community engagement to the board.

Michael Mauws

Treasurer

Michael Mauws is a community builder, business professor, and technology professional with extensive experience in governance, finance, and strategic planning. He brings decades of experience with business education, research, and consulting as well as software development and systems design. Michael obtained the ICD.D designation in 2012. He has served in senior volunteer leadership roles on numerous nonprofit boards. He is known for his principled, consensus-driven approach and strong commitment to transparent governance, fiscal stewardship, and sustainable community impact.

Richard Cannings

Vice-President

Richard Cannings brings deep experience in public service, policy, and community leadership to the Dream Society board. A former Member of Parliament, he offers a strong understanding of governance, accountability, and working effectively with public institutions and funders. With a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship, education, and community wellbeing, Richard is respected for his integrity, thoughtfulness, and collaborative approach. His experience navigating complex stakeholder environments strengthens the Society's capacity for responsible oversight, strategic decision-making, and long-term community impact.
