How to get the most out of your experience at The Dream

The Dream is a listening room, which means we prioritize the music and the connection between artists and audience. Here's how you can help create the best possible experience for everyone.

The Listening Room Experience

A listening room is different from a bar with live music. The focus is on the performance, and the audience plays an active role in creating a respectful atmosphere.

  • Keep conversations quiet during performances. Save the catching up for between sets or after the show.
  • Silence your phone and avoid screens during the performance. The glow is distracting to those around you.
  • Arrive on time. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime so you can get settled. Late arrivals should wait for a break between songs to be seated.
  • Show your appreciation! Applause, cheers, and genuine reactions are always welcome. Artists feed off your energy.

Seating

All seating at The Dream is assigned. When you purchase tickets, you'll select your seats from our interactive seating chart.

  • Please sit in your assigned seats. Our volunteers will help you find your table when you arrive.
  • Every seat is a good seat. Our intimate venue is designed so you'll have a great view and sound no matter where you sit.
  • Accessibility seating is available. Please indicate any accessibility needs when booking.

Food & Drinks

We offer table service so you can enjoy refreshments without missing a moment of music.

  • Order from your table using the QR codes on your table. Our volunteers will deliver your drinks between songs to minimize disruption.
  • Prefer the bar? You're welcome to visit the bar yourself, but please try to time your trips between songs out of respect for the performer and fellow audience members.
  • Food service varies by event. Check the event details to see what will be available.

Dancing

We get it. Sometimes the music moves you and you just have to move with it!

  • Feel free to dance, but please do so beside a wall or in designated areas rather than in front of other tables.
  • Be mindful of sightlines. Other guests paid for their seats too, and they'd like to see the stage.
  • Some shows are more danceable than others. Read the room and follow the vibe.

Support the Artists

The artists you see at The Dream are working musicians who depend on your support.

  • Buy merch! If the artist has merchandise available, you'll find it on the secondary stage during concerts. T-shirts, CDs, vinyl, and other items directly support the artist.
  • Follow them on social media and stream their music. Tell your friends about them.
  • Leave a tip if a tip jar is available. Every bit helps.

Photos & Recording

Policies vary by artist, but here are some general guidelines:

  • A quick photo is usually fine, but please turn off your flash and don't block anyone's view.
  • Extended recording is generally discouraged. Put the phone down and be present for the experience.
  • Some artists have specific policies which will be announced before the show. Please respect their wishes.

What to Wear

There's no dress code at The Dream. Come as you are.

  • Casual is fine. Jeans, t-shirts, whatever makes you comfortable.
  • Dress up if you want! Some folks like to make an evening of it.
  • Just be yourself. The only requirement is that you're ready to enjoy some great music.

Be Kind

The Dream is a community space run largely by volunteers.

  • Treat our volunteers with respect. They're here because they love music too.
  • Be considerate of other guests. We're all here for the same reason.
  • If there's an issue, let a volunteer or staff member know. We want everyone to have a great time.

That's It!

Really, it all comes down to this: be present, be respectful, and enjoy the music. We're thrilled you're here.
